Law Scholarships

At Willamette University School of Law, we are committed to making a legal education accessible and affordable. Thanks to our strong fiscal stability and strategic partnerships, we offer a variety of scholarships to support our students in their academic pursuits.

Merit-Based Scholarships

Willamette Law awards scholarships to a significant portion of our incoming class. These scholarships are based on a comprehensive evaluation by the Admissions Committee, which considers several factors, including academic achievements, leadership potential, and contributions to the diversity and quality of the entering class. Scholarships are awarded regardless of nationality or citizenship.

  • Renewability

Scholarship awards are renewable for the second and third years of law school, provided that recipients remain in good standing according to the School’s academic regulations and honor code, as outlined in the student handbook.

  • JD/MBA Joint Degree Program

Students enrolled in the JD/MBA Joint Degree Program should be aware that scholarships are awarded separately by the School of Law and the Atkinson Graduate School of Management. Scholarships from one school apply only while a student is studying at that school.

Direct Admission Scholarships

Scholarships awarded through our Direct Admission programs are straightforward and durable, providing transparency and assurance to students about the financial support they will receive throughout their studies.

External Scholarships

In addition to Willamette's institutional scholarships, we encourage students to explore a wide range of external scholarships. One particularly notable opportunity is the Paul D. Coverdell Fellows Program, a partnership between Willamette Law and the Peace Corps.
