International students are encouraged to apply for admission to the JD program at Willamette University College of Law.

In addition to following the standard JD application process, international students must meet the following requirements:

  1. All international applicants must take the Law School Admission Test (LSAT). To find the nearest test site, contact the LSAC at lsac.org.
  2. An international applicant must hold a degree that is equivalent to the American undergraduate bachelor’s degree. International applicants should contact the LSAC for additional information regarding degree evaluation services.
  3. An international applicant must demonstrate their English language proficiency to satisfy immigration policies. Read Willamette Law's English Proficiency Requirements here.
  4. An international applicant must be able to show they have sufficient resources to fund educational and living expenses for one year of the three-year JD program and provide a completed Statement of Financial Responsibility form, official bank verification of funds (written in English), showing that you and/or your sponsor have sufficient resources to cover educational and living expenses for one year of the JD program, or a financial guarantee letter from any government scholarship you have been awarded.

All appropriate documentation must be received and approved by the College of Law before the school will send them an I-20 (Application for Student Visa).
