Forum to examine vaccination perspectives

Willamette University College of Law and the Statesman Journal are partnering to present an April 16 forum on Vaccines and Our Health at Willamette University College of Law. The 7 p.m. event will be held in the Paulus Lecture Hall. It is free and open to the public.

Four panelists, including a state legislator, a pediatrician, a history professor who has written about the eradication of small pox, and a law professor who is an expert on the intersection of religion, government and the law, will provide perspectives from policy, medical and cultural angles.

"Willamette is a leader in the study of health care law," says Willamette law school Dean Curtis Bridgeman. "With the recent public interest in vaccination, we're pleased to host such an important and timely discussion."

In February, the College of Law partnered with Salem Hospital to present a symposium on the progress and promises of Obamacare.
