Offices change location to better connect related programs, services

by Marketing & Communications,

Summer is a time of beautiful weather, family vacations, barbecues and — at Willamette — office location changes. Some important changes are underway, intended to better connect related programs and services, as well as improve our services to students.

The “Beta Stub” Goes Global

A substantial renovation is in progress to redevelop the space formerly known as the Beta Stub into Willamette’s Global Learning Center. The Office of International Ed will also occupy this new building just south of Ford Hall.

The Global Learning Center will offer a community hearth space for student, faculty and staff programs and gatherings. The hearth space will be available by reservation through the Office of Scheduling and Events.

Matthews Hall – The “hub”of Academic Student Support Services:

What’s on your academic student support services list today? You’ll find it at Matthews Hall. The following student support offices are relocating into Matthews:

  • Associate Dean for Student Success
  • Special Assistant to the President for Student Success and Retention
  • Pre-health advising and SAGA
  • Native American Program
  • Career Services
  • Disability Services
  • Student Support Advisor

New in Putnam

Putnam University Center will see changes as well. The associate vice president of Academic Affairs (formerly located at Smullin Hall) and the Sustainability Institute (formerly at Matthews Hall) will join the Dean’s Office on the third floor. Look for more updates as the summer progresses.
