U.S. News names Willamette among top colleges

by Adam Torgerson,

U.S. News and World Report gave Willamette University the highest ranking among Oregon's liberal arts schools while listing Willamette 68th among the best liberal arts colleges nationally. The university was also listed among the "Top Performers on Social Mobility" and as a “Best Value School” in the magazine’s 2020 rankings.

The magazine’s ranking formula takes account of factors such as graduation rates, social mobility and resources—as well as assessments from academics and high school counselors.

This ranking follows several recent national accolades for Willamette. Washington Monthly names Willamette among the top liberal arts colleges in the Northwest. The Princeton Review lists the university among “The Best 385 Colleges,” and Willamette is listed also among the best universities in 2020 by the Fiske Guide.
