In August we welcomed the arrival of our new Bon Appetit General Manager, Eric Thomas. Eric and the Bon Appetit staff are pleased to see so many members of the Willamette community back to dine in a fully operating Goudy Commons.
To-Go Food Options
For the last two years, to-go boxes were provided in Goudy Commons as a take out option to accommodate needed COVID restrictions despite the newly implemented “all-you-care-to-eat” model for dining. This model is designed for in person dining. Starting Monday, October 17th, to-go boxes will no longer be provided in Goudy. However, if you are short on time or would like to take your meal to go there are three options.
- WU Mobile Ordering - download the “GET App” from your phone’s app store or order your meal on the WU Bon Appetit website under WU Mobile Ordering. See these frequently asked questions for how to use the app to pre-order your lunch and have it waiting for pick up.
- Visit the Blitz Market, located at the front entrance of the University Center across from the Bistro. Students can use their swipe for a meal equivalent at Blitz that includes a sandwich or salad, chips, drink, and a cookie.
- Visit Rick’s Café, located in the lower level of the law school.
Both Rick’s and the Blitz Market have grab and go sandwiches, salads, snacks and beverages available for lunch. The meal swipe equivalency is only available at Blitz Market.
Compass Cash
The campus Compass Cash system has allowed additional funds to be added to individual’s accounts for use with their Willamette ID card at campus food outlets. As a result of the declining use of Compass Cash, the increasing costs to operate, and the availability of cash or credit cards at dining outlets, the University will discontinue the use of Compass Cash at the end of the academic year. Returning members of the WU community may use any remaining Compass Cash balances on their University ID card at the Bistro, Blitz Market, Rick’s Cafe, and Goudy Commons. No additional funds may be added while existing balances are spent down this year. Unused funds will be refunded at the end of the academic year. Faculty and staff can still receive a 10% discount at the register when they show their University ID.

Want to find out what meals are being served everyday? On the Bon Appetit website you can subscribe to Menu Mail and receive the daily menu in your email inbox everyday. Just enter your email, choose your café(s), and you'll start getting Menu Mail the next day. To change your settings, resubmit the form with the same email address. Messages are not sent when cafés are closed.
