Internship awards are given to promote student career preparedness. These awards are designed to enhance the recipients' practical experience, work exposure, and career opportunities.
To apply, you will need:
- Cover Letter outlining:
- Your internship including organization and location
- How this internship will impact your career development (please include what you will learn in the internship and your declared major)
- A detailed budget anticipating expenses, other funding, and how these funds will impact your ability to complete the internship
- If you are applying for a specific internship scholarship, please read and review the scholarship criteria and address how your background and interests meet that criteria.
- Resume — Send your resume (or cover letter) to career-development@willamette.edu to be reviewed. You can also make a Zoom appointment with our Career Advisors on Handshake for additional advising.

- Joseph '71 and Rosanne Hoffman Professional Internship Fund
Awarded to any undergraduate student working as an intern at a professional, for-profit business organization.
- Catherine D. Lutz Internship Fund
Awarded to undergraduate students from historically underrepresented groups and that have unmet financial need.
- Glenn and Heidi Patterson Professional Internship Fund
Awarded to rising juniors and seniors in the College of Arts & Sciences who are working as interns at for-profit business organizations.
- Class of 1969 50th Reunion Internship Fund
Awarded to sophomore, junior, and senior students in the College of Arts & Sciences who have shown personal leadership and service through their time on campus.
- Bovell Non-Profit Internship Fund
Awarded to any full-time student who is working as a low- or unpaid intern with a non-profit organization.
- Political Internships Fund
Awarded to any full-time student is working as a low- or non-paid intern in the political, public policy, or governmental affairs field.
- Cahill Internship Fund
Awarded to any full-time student working as a low- or non-paid intern in the allied health professions.
- Heatherington Pre-Health Internship and Research Fund
- Psychology Internship Fund
Awarded to any full-time student working as a low- or non-paid intern in the psychology field.
