Athletics

Being a scholar-athlete at Willamette means becoming a well-rounded individual. From academic and athletic achievements to engaging with the community, Bearcats are having an impact.

Bearcat Athletics fosters leadership and excellence on and off the field. As a Division III school, Willamette’s athletic teams approach competition with an emphasis on teamwork and mutual support, creating an environment where students can grow together. Our athletes have opportunities to pursue impactful work such as research and internships alongside their commitment to their sport and graduate with a sense of confidence as they begin the next chapter of their lives.

“I never thought I could play a sport at the collegiate level, let alone triathlon, so I am forever grateful to Coach Brett Franz for believing in me and bringing me to Willamette. Through the triathlon team, I met my incredible teammates, traveled to new places and raced alongside hardworking and inspiring women from across the country in national competitions.”
