Here is one example of the forestry master's program timeline based on the most common start time at OSU (fall term). Students, however, may wish to start their time at OSU in either winter or spring terms, so the terms would shift accordingly.

- Student petitions for regular graduate student status. OSU must have proof of the undergraduate degree before provisional status will be changed.
- Students forms graduate committee with OSU Faculty Advisor guidance
