You’ll explore all aspects of theatre, including acting, directing, stagecraft, costume construction, design, lighting and dramatic literature. Your experiences — which include professional development opportunities in performance, playwriting, design and technology — will set the stage for an exciting and rewarding career.

Our theatre graduates have continued their studies at Brown, Columbia, Yale and NYU, and they’re pursuing their passion for theatre on Broadway and in film and television. So can you.

Tess Falcone ’10

  • Ran the lighting production for Queen and other bands at a tribute to late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins at London’s Wembley Stadium.
  • Has worked with many different artists, including St. Vincent, Weezer, and Jimmy Eat World.
  • Her path to Wembley began in the theater department at Willamette.

Shana Cooper ’99

  • Directed more than two dozen plays nationwide
  • Formed an experimental theater company called New Theater House while studying at Yale
  • Involved with an off-Broadway company called The COOP

E.M. Lewis ’94

  • Award winning playwright, teacher and librettist
  • Her work brings to light topics from climate change to gun ownership
  • Social responsibility through artistry is how she lives the motto, “Not unto ourselves alone are we born”
