lair-02.jpgAuditions for Spring 2023 productions will be held on Dec. 2, with callbacks on Dec. 6 and 9, 2022. Specific times, requirements and forms are below.

All auditions at Willamette University's Theatre department are "open calls." Any and every Willamette and Salem community member is welcome to come and play with us!

If you are a theatre major, minor and/or scholarship holder, you are required to participate in Spring auditions. Details at bottom of page.

Audition Dates & Times

General Auditions
  • Friday, Dec. 2, 2022  •  12:00 - 4:00 pm.
    Auditions will take place at Willamette’s Pelton Theatre building.
Callbacks
  • Tuesday, Dec. 6, 2022  •  6:00 - 9:00 pm
    Callbacks for The Secretaries.
  • Friday, Dec. 9, 2022  •  12:30 - 4:00 pm
    Callbacks for Blithe Spirit.

Rehearsals for The Secretaries begin on Tuesday, Jan 17, 2023.
Rehearsals for Blithe Spirit begin on Tuesday, Feb. 28, 2023.


Audition requirements

Actors should come to the auditions prepared (memorized!) with two (2) contrasting monologues from plays reflective of the tone/stylistic demands/genres of the two spring plays. No dialect is necessary for the general audition.

The total audition time is two (2) minutes. 


Forms

All actors and technicians will need to complete Audition or Tech forms in advance of the auditions. Please fill out forms before the December 2, 2022 auditions.

All Majors, Minors and Scholarship holders must fill out both forms.

There is a special kind of cattiness that rules the secretaries at Cooney Lumber Mill in Big Bone, Oregon. But could they also be luring people into a cult behind recent “accidental” lumberjack deaths? Oil up the chainsaws and buckle in for this hilarious, outrageous feminist satire of admins over the edge.

Significant involvements include acting or a major contribution to technical aspects of the production. The faculty will assign students their production roles. It is the student's responsibility to check with the Production Stage Manager to confirm their assignments to crew positions.
