Biography
John Tillotson has performed extensively in major theatres in both the US and abroad. He toured nationally in The Sound of Music opposite Marie Osmond, and internationally in The Phantom of the Opera (Opera-Comique/Paris and European tour) and Cat on a Hot Tin Roof (The English Theatre/Frankfurt, Germany). New York credits include Hot Dog Hitman, Mary Barnes, and the Acting Company productions of Love’s Labour’s Lost and Boy Meets Girl. Regional Theatre experience includes major roles at the Shakespeare Theatre Company/DC, Guthrie Theater, McCarter Theatre, Kennedy Center, Long Wharf Theatre, McCarter Theatre Center, Goodspeed Opera House, Great Lakes Theatre and Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park.
John Tillotson has been a company member of the Shakespeare Festivals of Alabama, Colorado, Utah, New Jersey and Dallas, performing a wide variety of roles including Falstaff in The Merry Wives of Windsor; Gloucester in King Lear; Friar Lawrence in Romeo and Juliet; Don Armado in Love’s Labour’s Lost; and Touchstone in As You Like It. He recently performed as Orgon in Tartuffe at Triad Theatre.
Other career highlights include performing in The Radio City Christmas Spectacular, starring the Rockettes; the first American company of Nicholas Nickleby in Chicago; and the films Die Hard With A Vengeance and the award winning Anna.
