Philosophy major. Nancy was the first woman mail carrier in Salem, Oregon. She drove a parcel delivery truck in Portland and was a gas station attendant, an automotive machinist, and a certified welder. She graduated from medical school in 1990 and opened a solo family medicine office in 1993. She has been a rural family medicine doctor (solo practice) for the past 16 1/2 years.
