Numerous Willamette students have gone on to earn advanced degrees related to public health, including the following:

Mara Hansen Staples ’06
Mara has a master’s degree in Global Health and Population from Harvard School of Public Health and is now a partner at Impact for Health. She previously worked at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, where she held roles in health economics and development policy, and improved coverage of primary health care through health financing and better engagement of the private sector. 

Hayley Freedman ’08
Hayley has a Master of Public Health degree from the University of Sheffield (United Kingdom) and the University of Copenhagen (Denmark). She currently works at the American Cancer Society as a program specialist for the Global Capacity Development and Patient Support team.

Erica Blum-Barnett ’07
Erica completed her Master of Public Health degree at Harvard School of Public Health. She is now a project manager at Kaiser Permanente’s Institute for Health Research.

Taylor Etzel ’14
Taylor finished her master’s degree in Epidemiology at Brown last year. She focused mostly on prenatal endocrine disrupting chemical exposures found in common household and consumer products, as well as child development. She is now a PhD student at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health focusing on exposure science and environmental epidemiology.
