Master's of Data Science Learning Outcomes

Student Learning Outcomes for the Data Science (MS)

  1. Deploy industry-relevant analytical skills and techniques that leverage state-of-the-art technologies.
  2. Understand best ethical practices in data collection, algorithms, machine learning, and AI systems–including data privacy, governance, and potential downstream effects of the usage of those methods.
  3. Collaborate across multidisciplinary teams and tailor communication of analytical results via oral presentations, written reports, and data visualization.
  4. Possess transferable skills enabled by a rich liberal arts education that centers critical thinking and complex problem solving.
  5. Understand best ethical practices in data collection, algorithms, machine learning, and AI systems-including data privacy, governance, and potential downstream effects of the usage of those methods.
