Willamette offers its MS in Data Science in both Portland and Salem. While both locations share the same curriculum, faculty, and career development resources, the experience differs in where you take classes, when your classes meet, and who you learn alongside. Most students complete the majority of their coursework in either Portland or Salem, though cross-campus enrollment is available. In Portland, students can expect:

  • Class schedule format: One four-hour evening class per week from 6-10 pm, designed to accommodate full-time work schedules
  • Cohort experience: A classroom shaped by a diverse group of working professionals from a variety of industries and career stages
  • Campus experience: A centrally located graduate center in Portland’s Pearl District, with flexible space for studying, working, and connecting with peers

Willamette’s Graduate and Professional Center in Portland

Portland MSDS courses are held at Willamette’s Graduate & Professional Center in the Ecotrust building (721 NW 9th Ave). The center includes classrooms, collaboration areas, a rooftop area, and event spaces, and students have 24-hour access to study, work, or connect with peers.

Located in Portland’s Pearl District, the center offers convenient access to public transit, including the streetcar and MAX lines, as well as nearby parking, coffee shops, restaurants, and other neighborhood amenities.
