Program Requirements

Our Master of Legal Studies (MLS) program requires 26 credit hours to complete the degree. Core requirements include completing one foundational first-year law course, such as Contracts, Civil Procedure, or Property Law, which accounts for 3-4 credit hours. Additionally, students must complete a significant writing project under faculty supervision, which contributes to their overall credit requirement.

Students pursuing the MLS degree on a part-time basis may spread their coursework over two to four years, ensuring they meet the 26 credit-hour requirement within that time frame.
