Academics and Beyond
Your academic adventure begins with the College Colloquium, an introductory seminar designed to help you transition smoothly into Willamette's academic life. You'll form lasting connections with your peers and your colloquium professor, who will also be your first-year advisor.
But it’s not all about academics. Opening Days introduces you to the full spectrum of campus resources, including the Bishop Wellness Center, Academic Support, Career Development, and our extensive Library and technology resources. We're here to ensure you feel supported in every aspect of your university experience.

Books on College Transition for Students and Parents
The Association of Higher Education Parent/Family Program Professionals offers a curated list of recommended books to support parents as their students transition into and navigate college life. Explore the list of recommended books for parents.

Creating Personal Connections
During Opening Days, you’ll be placed in a group of 12-14 fellow incoming students, led by two enthusiastic student leaders. These groups offer a safe space to make friends, share experiences, and build a support network outside the classroom. Get ready to meet your leaders and start forming bonds that will last throughout your time at Willamette!
