Hayden Dentinger serves as the Assistant Director of Admission Visits for the College of Arts & Sciences. In his role, Hayden is responsible for the direct management of the Admission Ambassador Program, as well as the virtual and in-person visit programs. He also assists with the recruitment of scholar-athletes to Willamette University.
Hayden received a Bachelor's degree in Planning, Public Policy, and Management from the University of Oregon. He is a member of the Collegiate Information and Visitors Services Association (CIVSA) and the Pacific Northwest Association for College Admission Counseling (PNACAC).
Why Willamette?
I am incredibly fond of the community that exists amongst staff, faculty, and students at Willamette. It's a place where everyone works to encourage, support, and spur each other in their academic and extracurricular involvements.
Favorite High School or College Class or Subject?
My favorite class in college was Elementary Discrete Mathematics. I particularly enjoyed learning how to count various subsets in the weirdest way possible.
Something You Learned in College You Still Use?
My policy analysis classes taught me to assess various stakeholder opinions to determine which option provided the greatest net benefit. This has benefited me in my career, by helping me to understand the perspectives of different individuals when making decisions.
Memorable/Favorite High School or College Co- Curricular Activity
My favorite co-curricular activity in college was working with our Orientation Office to provide campus tours to a huge variety of prospective students.
Proudest Accomplishment to Date
My proudest accomplishment to date is being named as a Stamps Scholar in 2017.
