Program Offered: Minor

The sustainability minor addresses the complex nature of environmental, economic and social sustainability from a variety of perspectives utilizing a systems-thinking or systems-theory framework. Because environmental and social systems are connected, issues like climate change, pollution, sustainable development, ecosystem health, and racial and economic inequality cannot be studied in isolation.

Students who minor in sustainability learn how to address large-scale problems using a wide range of tools and approaches. They will gain a deeper understanding of the challenges that face current and future generations, and develop personal and professional values that will be a source of inspiration and strength for the rest of their lives.
