Willamette’s Atkinson School to offer new one-year MBA program for eligible undergraduates

by Office of Communications,

Beginning fall 2023, Willamette University will offer a new one-year MBA program for exceptional undergraduate business students to earn their MBA in just one year.

Eligible students must have a recent undergraduate business degree from an AACSB-accredited institution, a minimum GPA, and an entrance test score on the GMAT, GRE, or LSAT. For Fall 2023 applicants, the minimum GPA is 3.3, and the minimum GMAT score is 550.

“This MBA helps launch outstanding early-career students into meaningful professional positions quickly,” said Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Associate Professor of Accounting Romana Autrey.

Depending on their work experience, students can pursue one of two tracks to earn an Atkinson MBA degree while choosing exciting electives along the way. In total, students will complete 12 courses over three semesters.

The one-year program also requires a completed internship to ensure students have formal, real-world experience before graduation. Students can use internships completed prior to enrollment to fulfill this requirement, or students can complete an internship during the MBA program as an elective.

These streamlined requirements enable eligible students to graduate from Atkinson’s distinctive one-year MBA program ready to serve and contribute to today’s workforce.

“Willamette’s one-year MBA program is designed so that academically strong business students are in the best possible position to succeed,” said Autrey.
