The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life acknowledges the season of Advent, which begins Nov. 27-Dec. 24.

Advent (from Latin adventus, "coming"), the period in the Christian church calendar preceding the celebration of Jesus Christ's birth at Christmas, as well as the period preceding Christ's Second Coming.

The season involves four weeks of reflection on joy, hope, love, peace and Christ in the world.
