The Office of Spiritual and Religious Life acknowledges the anniversary of Honen Shonin’s death (1212 CE.)

Shonin was known to describe his life as a seeker of “the way” (see source below) initially within the Buddhist tradition. He founded Jodo-shu, or the Pure Land Foundation, in Japan.
