Bearcat Day and Access to Excellence

Contact: Patrick Wilson

Join us in welcoming admitted and enrolling students to the Salem campus.

The Office of Undergraduate Admission is excited to host our second of three Bearcat Day and Access to Excellence programs on Friday, April 7 and Saturday, April 8. We're currently expecting nearly 200 students and more than 400 total guests over the two days.

Bearcat Day is our signature admitted student event and the moment when many students will choose to make Willamette their home for the next four years. Access to Excellence is Willamette's fly-in program welcoming students (with a parent, family member or other mentoring adult) who have historically been underrepresented on college campuses, including at Willamette. A full schedule is listed below.

Please join us in welcoming our guests – and potential future Bearcats. To help make these events a success, you can:

  • Offer a warm welcome to anyone who looks like a prospective student or parent (and directions to anyone who looks a little lost).
  • Wear your Willamette name tag so visitors can easily identify whom to ask for assistance.
  • Show your Bearcat pride by wearing your favorite Willamette gear and colors.
  • Encourage visitors to explore campus by visiting The Bistro, the bookstore, Hallie Ford Museum of Art or your favorite campus spot.
  • Give recommendations to your favorite Salem restaurant, coffee shop, store or park.
  • Bring your patience as parking lots will be tight – or consider carpooling – and note that lines in Goudy will be longer than usual.

Thank you for extending your best Willamette hospitality and welcome to these future students. Please contact the Office of Undergraduate Admission at 503-370-6303 with any questions.
