Residence Hall Association wins regional recognition

Contact: Heather Kropf

The Residence Hall Association (RHA) recently attended a regional conference.

RHA (Residence Hall Association) is an elected student government for the residence halls which any undergraduate student in the Salem or Portland residence halls can take part in. RHA is affiliated with the regional Pacific Affiliate of College and University Residence Halls (PACURH) which hosts leadership conferences throughout the year. At the beginning of November, three RHA executive board members: Josi Lee (Executive Director/President), Rodney Gray (Director of Administration), Eclipse Albert (Director of Sustainability) attended the regional conference along with their advisor, Residence Life Coordinator Nikola Douglas - Tavani.

The 2023 regional leadership conference was hosted at the University of California, Riverside and during the conference there are a handful of spirit awards that universities can submit entries for. This year, RHA was able to take home the 'Banner award' which is a digital banner submitted by the students that attended the conference and showcases Willamette University. We're incredibly proud of the work that these students did to represent the history and culture of Willamette as well as bring back lessons around student leadership and advocacy.
