Last chance: share grandmothers' & women elders' recipes

Contact: Lisa J Logan

Celebrate Women's History Month by sharing your recipe by tomorrow, Feb. 16.

As the Women's History Month planning committee prepares to celebrate Women's History Month in March, we are excited to announce a special initiative that pays tribute to the culinary legacy of our grandmothers and women elders. We believe that there's no better way to honor the women who came before us than by sharing and savoring the recipes that have been passed down through generations. We are delighted to honor our grandmothers — by family of origin or chosen family — and their contributions to our families and our cultures.

We invite you to contribute to a unique collection of Grandmothers' Recipes that will be featured and celebrated throughout the month of March. We hope to bring together a diverse array of heartwarming and cherished recipes that showcase the rich tapestry of culinary traditions.

If you have fond memories from the kitchen of a woman elder, we would be honored to include her special recipes in our Women's History Month celebration. Whether it's a comforting stew that warms the soul, a timeless dessert that brings back fond memories, or a secret family recipe that has been shared through the ages — we want them all.

Here's how you can be a part of this meaningful project:

Submit Your Recipe: Share your grandmother's or elder’s recipe with us at the link below by Friday, Feb. 16. Include a brief story or memory associated with the recipe to add a personal touch.

Spread the Word: Encourage friends, family, and your community to join in by submitting their own grandmother's recipes. Let's make this collection as diverse and inclusive as possible.

Celebrate Together: Bon Appétit will feature select recipes at Goudy throughout March. We will also produce a digital cookbook to share with the community.

To submit a recipe, visit the link below. Your contribution will not only help us celebrate Women's History Month but also create a lasting tribute to the incredible women who have shaped our culinary heritage. Thank you for being a part of this heartwarming celebration. We look forward to receiving your cherished recipes and sharing the love and flavors of grandmothers and women elders everywhere.
