Salem campus planned power outage — June 3–14

Contact: Mark Mazurier

From June 3 to 14, power will be shut off in several buildings on the Salem campus. These buildings will remain completely closed and locked for the entirety of those two weeks.

This summer, Facilities will complete work on a project to replace a transformer and underground electrical lines that run through the Quad to prevent unexpected power outages. The transformer replacement project is part of our larger infrastructure upgrade initiative, which you can read more about here.

As part of this work, from June 3 to 14, 2024, power will be shut off in the buildings listed below. These buildings will remain completely closed and locked for the entirety of those two weeks. Employees in these buildings should consult their supervisors to determine alternate work locations during the closure.

  • Collins Science Center (Note: Olin Science Center power will not be shut off)
  • Waller Hall
  • Eaton Hall
  • Smullin-Walton Halls

Additionally, there will be heavy equipment onsite and it may get noisy at times, but our goal is to minimize disruptions as much as possible.

If you have concerns about how this shutdown will impact your summer research projects, events, or programs, please contact Mark Mazurier at mmazurie@willamette.edu.

Thank you for your patience as we make these important improvements to our campus.
