Biography

Patience is a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oregon. She has a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of North Texas. She has experience with anxiety, depression, acute mental health needs, trauma work, and eating disorders. She has a special interest in body image work, disability rights and empowerment, and the LGBTQ population. She is passionate about working with marginalized populations and championing clients as they reach their own intrinsically personal and unique goals. Patience believes the goal of therapy is to recognize and move towards the most authentic version of the self, untangling that closely held negative self-talk along the way. Patience practices therapy through a social justice lens and a belief that the client is the expert on their own lived experience. She uses dialectic and acceptance-based therapy to help clients begin to live a life based on their own values and needs and gain insight into their thought patterns. In her free time, Patience is likely exploring the area with the childlike glee of someone who has always lived at sea level, or at home baking bread and cookies in her pajamas.
