Overview
York St John University (YSJ) is located in the city center of York, England. York is a cathedral city in the North known for its historic architecture, eclectic museums, and walkable town center. York was voted the most popular city in the UK in 2021 (YouGov). YSJ has about 7,000 full and part-time students, ranking in the top 100 universities in the UK. YSJ offers a well-rounded education, with co-curricular opportunities through community-building events on campus and leadership development opportunities. By participating in one of YSJ’s 300+ official student clubs, you’ll find a home away from home among your cultural, philanthropic and/or extracurricular interests. Minimum GPA required by host program: 2.8 GPA.

YSJ University accepts over 200 international students every semester and has five main academic schools: School of Arts, School of Education, Language and Psychology, School of Humanities, School of Science, Technology and Health, and business school. YSK is dedicated to innovation, research and academic excellence. Students choose from modules that have been approved by YSJ departments. A full-time load is 60 credits.
Housing
Students will stay in self-catered accommodation in single occupancy rooms at either the Grange or City Residence, both which are less than a mile away from campus. Accommodation is guaranteed if deadlines are met. Accommodation costs roughly £130-£150 a week which will include insurance and a bedding pack.
Dates
The YSJ exchange is available in both fall and spring semesters. Fall starts mid-September and ends late December. The Spring semester starts late January and ends at the beginning of June.
Cost
WU tuition to WU Student Accounts. Housing fee paid directly to YSJ University Accommodation. Student will purchase and prepare their own food. Student must have health insurance that covers them abroad. Speak with an OIE Advisor about visa cost.
