Willamette's web-based printing software changed from Webprint to WUprint in the summer of 2012.  WUprint is a web-based printing solution that replaced the aging Webprint service while offering the same easy printing along with new functionality to better serve the Willamette printing community.

1. Why did we make this change?

Infrastructure improvements necessitated a change in our web-printing options. Webprint was a home-grown application dating back many years. We used this opportunity to seek out an off the shelf solution that is easier to manage and offers more functionality to our users.

2. Is printing still free?

Yes, student printing is continues to be free, although we request that you help us keep it that way by not abusing the privilege. This service is also limited to draft-quality, black-and-white or grayscale printing only.

3. What’s the difference?

The core functionality is the same, but WUprint has a lot more functionality and features to make it easy for you.

  • Upload a document to be printed: For a few common formats (Word docs, PDFs). No install necessary, just upload the document directly from your computer to the web and then print it to any of the listed printers
  • Email print: Send print jobs directly from a mobile phone or device via email
  • Print from home: You can send and release jobs to printers even from off-campus

4. Do I still have access to the same printer list?

Yes, the same printers that you saw in Webprint are available in WUprint.

5. Does WUprint work the same as Webprint?

Yes, WUprint is still a 2-step printing process.

Step 1: Send your print job to the WUprint queue (via a variety of methods)

Step 2: Log on to the WUprint webpage and release the job to any printer on the list available.

This is exactly the way Webprint worked, and should be a very easy transition for those of you who are familiar with how the old Webprint system worked.

See our WUprint instruction page for even more details about how to use WUprint:

6. How do I set up my computer for WUprint?

Simply visit the WUprint webpage and log-in. From there click on the tab called Driver Print. Once there you'll see a Getting Started page. Just click on the Operating System you are currently using (Windows, Macintosh, or Linux), and follow the on-screen instructions.

See our WUprint instruction page for even more details about how to use WUprint:

Remember: you don't need to install anything to start using WUprint right away. The Upload a File feature works with many common file types and you can use it from any computer!

7. What page should I bookmark to have fast access WUprint?

The direct url is https://secure.willamette.edu/wuprint/

See our WUprint instruction page for even more details about how to use WUprint:

8. How do I select double or single-sided printing?

Many options including duplex/simplex job choice, and # of copies to be printed are in the advanced options when you go to release your print job to a printer.

*NOTE: Those advanced options override any setting you have set in your driver print or direct print options.
