Nine players will begin the morning with three short plays, 'Nana and Paige', 'Pity the Fool', and 'A Growing Problem.' After a short break, the group will present a 'Thin Man' episode. William Blitz is the sound effects person for this play. Comments and questions are encouraged at the conclusion of the performance!In alphabetical order, the group includes: Steve Gram, Helen Mazur-Hart, Solveig Holmquist, Rosamund Irwin, Gretchen Jensen, Barbara McReal, Colleen Spedale, Kasia Quillinan, Joel Woodman, and Bill Blitz. |

| 10:00 AM-11:00 AM | "The Writing Potpourri," Lois Rosen, ZOOM  The Writing Potpourri presenters are; Betty Kasoff, Rebecca Miller-Moe, Chris Duval, Dina Triest, Vernelle Judy. Lois Rosen will introduce the speakers. Vernelle Judy will be pairing photos with the writing.Lois Rosen has been a member of ICL since 1/2005. Lois joyfully leads the Trillium Writers, the ICL Writing Group, and co-founded the Peregrine Poets. Her poetry books are Pigeons (Traprock Books, 2005), Nice and Loud (Tebot Bach, 2015), and Diving and Rising, her new book, published this April by Finishing Line Press (finishinglinepress.com). Her prose and poetry has appeared in numerous magazines and online. She’s taught ESL in Oregon, New York, Japan, Ecuador, Colombia, and Costa Rica. |
| 11:00 AM-12:00 PM | "Art Potpourri," Deanna White, Solveig Holmquist [Virginia Vanderbilt], ZOOM   This hour will be shared by two ICL members, Deanna White and Solveig Holmquist. Deanna will begin with one of her favorite artists, Andy Goldsworthy, a British sculptor, photographer and artist who creates unique, transient art installations with elements from nature made from ice, rocks, mud, sticks and flower petals. He has also created permanent installations such as the Holocaust memorial "Garden of Stones". His work will delight you with their impermanence and beauty. Our second part of the hour will have Solveig introduce us to Eric Gill (1882-1940). Eric was perhaps the greatest English artist-craftsman of the twentieth century: a typographer and letter cutter of genius, and a master in the art of sculpture and wood-engraving. If you have chosen Gill Sans for your font, or marveled at the Stations of the Cross in London's Westminster Cathedral, you've seen his work. He also led a highly controversial patriarchal commune, the details of which are blush-worthy. Solveig (2012) us best known for her presentations on music. Today she will present a talk on an outstanding artisan. Deanna White (2010) is a popular and outstanding artist in her own right. She has provided presentations on art during her tenure with ICL. |

Throughout the Fall and Spring Semester classes, we have lived through many changes in our "usual" world. Environmental changes to the climate, the rise of extremism, and racial injustice in our own country. We have experienced our vulnerability in the face of a pandemic. We have emphasized how collaboration and adaptation can ease and provide guidance in the Anthropocene. Share your learning experience living in the Anthropocene with a discussion led by Rebecca Miller-Moe. Rebecca Miller-Moe has been a valued member of ICL since 9/1/2017. She has participated in many book discussions and provides valuable insights leading to interesting discussions |
| 11:00 AM-12:00 PM | "Blue Mountains Koala Project," Dr. Kellie Leigh - Video Presentation [Judy Gram], ZOOM  The devastating megafires in Australia in 2019-20 were the worst fires in Australian history with almost 3 billion animals impacted by the fires. Dr. Leigh, in an address to the Wildlife Conservation Network, describes how her team and a host of volunteers rushed to save koalas from the fires that were quickly approaching their habitat.Dr. Kellie Leigh, Executive Director of Science for Wildlife, in her work with the Blue Mountains Koala Project includes applied research and building partnerships with land managers, communities and volunteers to ensure that on-ground conservation action is as effective as can be. |

| 10:00 AM-12:00 PM | "Closing Session for the 2020/2021 Year. ," Dru Johnson, Judy Gram, Deanna White, Lois Rosen, Kasia Quillinan, ICL Board Members & Friends [WUICL], ZOOM    The first hour of this session will be the presentations of our ICL Poet Laureates, Vernelle Judy and Betty Kasoff, in our Up Close and Personal. Their presentation will be a SURPRISE, so don't miss this special event! We will then hear from Deanna White and Lois Rosen as they talk about their collaboration in creating a published book with Lois as the writer and Deanna as the illustrator. ICL Curriculum Co-Director, Judy Gram, will presents the upcoming Fall 2021 Semester Class Schedule. After a ten minute break, our Executive Director, Kasia Quillinan will chair the yearly General Meeting with Election of Officers and Board Introductions. The collaborative effort of Deanna and Lois is a book entitled "Diving and Rising." It is appearing on bookshelves this Spring and can be ordered on Amazon or from finishinglinepress.com |
