As a benefit to staff required to work over the summer, and at the discretion of the President, Pres. Thorsett is once again closing university offices during the week of the Independence Day holiday. Please note that this is not a guaranteed benefit that will be offered in the future. The official recognition of the Independence Day holiday is Tuesday, July 4. Staff who would otherwise be scheduled to work may take these days as paid time off for their regularly scheduled hours without needing to use vacation or personal preference time. As is the case with our winter closure, there are some employees who will still need to work during this week.
Hourly employees should add regularly scheduled hours to their timesheet using “University Closure” for July 3, 5-7 and “Holiday” for July 4.
