* Please note that at this time we are not offering docent guided tours.
If you have scheduled a docent-led tour, you may add up to five students. If you are teacher- or chaperone-guided tour, please notify us if you add more than 10 students.[back to top]
48 hours notice is appreciated, especially if you have scheduled a docent-led tour.[back to top]
Docent-guided tours of special exhibitions last from 45 minutes to one hour. Teacher- or chaperone-led tours should plan about the same amount of time. Groups with planned activities may schedule a longer visit in other galleries.[back to top]
If you have a docent-led tour, name tags with first names only are very helpful for elementary students.[back to top]
Photography without flash is permitted in designated galleries and for works from the museum’s permanent collections.[back to top]
Free parking is available in the stadium parking lot adjacent to Bush Park. From the museum, travel east on State Street and turn right at the next street, which is Winter Street. Go all the way down to Mission (Winter Street dead ends here) and the lot is across the street.[back to top]
Limited unattended storage is available for coats. We recommend that backpacks, bags, electronics are left on the bus or at school. Pencils ONLY are allowed in the galleries; clipboards are required for written projects during teacher- or chaperone-led tours.[back to top]
The museum does not have a lunchroom; there is a park available across the street, at the Capitol.[back to top]
If you are scheduled for a docent-led tour, call us as soon as possible. Docents will wait up to 20 minutes for a group and will proceed with a tour during the scheduled time. If there is not a group scheduled for the next time slot, and the docent is available, the group may continue for the full hour tour.
There are no early entries. It is important to stay on schedule, and gallery space is limited. If travel plans change, let us know.
