Senior Art Students Featured at Hallie Ford Museum of Art

Salem, Ore — A new exhibition that features the work of 13 senior art students at Willamette University is slated to open on April 13 and will continue through May 12, 2013, at the Hallie Ford Museum of Art at Willamette University. The exhibition is presented every spring to honor and acknowledge the work of senior art majors. Characterized by a wide variety of styles and approaches, the exhibition represents the culmination of their four years at Willamette and includes work in a variety of media, including drawing, sculpture, ceramics, photography, art installations, and traditional and digital painting.

This year’s senior art students include Eileen Chavez from Oakland, California; Lauren Cooney from Kodiak, Alaska; Meara Gordanier from Hillsboro, Oregon; Elizabeth Harney from Portland, Oregon; Moriah Hernandez from Santa Rosa, California; Ellen Kaline from Billings, Montana; Andrew Long from Bend, Oregon; Michael Lukas from Larkspur, California; Georgia Stanley from Portland, Oregon; Elizabeth Stegner from Moscow, Idaho; Cara Thompson from Bainbridge Island, Washington; Ariel Wilson from Salt Lake City, Utah; and Jenna Wu from Honolulu, Hawaii.

Student-Led Gallery Talks

A number of student-led gallery talks have been planned for the months of April and May. “For many of these students this is their first opportunity to show in a professional setting and the gallery talks are an excellent opportunity for them to share and talk about their work and interact directly with their audience,” says Hallie Ford Museum of Art Director John Olbrantz.

All gallery talks will begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Maribeth Collins Lobby and are free and open to the public.
