Students develop a substantial foundation in mediation and negotiation. The program is particularly valuable for students interested in a deep exploration of problem solving, deal making and decision theory. The program is administered by Willamette's Center for Dispute Resolution.
The program helps students develop an understanding of the legal structure, function, and operations of national, state, and local governments. Students receive personalized, rigorous, and hands-on training that capitalizes on Willamette's proximity to state government.
Students establish a comprehensive foundation in the fundamentals of public international law and dispute resolution, international business transactions, comparative law, private international law, and transnational arbitration and litigation. In addition, students can study a wide range of international law specialty subjects.
Students build a foundation in sustainable, environmental, energy and natural resources law, and learn about the role of the lawyer in formulating law and policy to sustain and protect global resources.
