Diversity and Identity Abroad

Studying abroad can be a rewarding and transformative experience. As you explore study abroad, we encourage you to consider how the many ways you engage as a member of multiple, diverse, intersecting communities will be reflected and experienced when you travel abroad. Living immersed in another culture offers opportunities for new insights, and possibly challenges, to how you view yourself and the world around you. The resources below offer starting points for questions you may want to research about your study abroad location before you apply for your program, and certainly before you depart. OIE advisors are ready to support you in your planning and preparation as well.
