TRANSFORMATIONS: The George And Colleen Hoyt Collection Of Northwest Coast Art
This exhibition traces the revival and history of contemporary Northwest Coast Indigenous art over the past 75 years through the George and Colleen Hoyt Collection of Pacific Northwest Art. It includes a stunning array of masks, wooden objects, and prints by some of Canada and Alaska’s most important and distinguished artists. The collection is a promised gift from the Hoyts to the Hallie Ford Museum of Art.
Rick Silva: Western Fronts
In this video installation, Eugene artist Rick Silva transports viewers over four spectacular national monuments. This work contemplates the colliding interests and the complexities of the future of these special landscapes, touching on the relationships between Indigenous rights, corporate interests, public access to lands, and conservation. It also includes a sound design created by Kuedo + Holy Other.
The museum's permanent galleries feature works by Pacific Northwest and Native American artists as well as a diverse collection of Ancient, European, American, and Asian art. You can explore even more with our online collections.
