Housing Options for On-Campus Living

You'll start developing strong community connections from the day residence halls open in August. On our Salem campus, you’ll find dozens of residential options including first-year communities and apartments for juniors and seniors.

Dining Options on Campus

Enjoy made-from-scratch meals in Goudy, our main dining hall. Blitz Market and Rick’s Café offer grab-and-go options, such as coffee, teas, sodas, sandwiches, salads, and snacks.

Access Campus with Your Compass Card

You'll use your Compass Card frequently. It’s not only your campus ID, but it’s also used for building access.

Common Housing & Meal Plan Questions

Here are a few of the most common questions we get from incoming students. You can get more housing details at the Residence Life website.

First year students typically live in the Baxter Community or Matthews Community, both of which feature various halls.

You’ll complete a lifestyles and likings questionnaire in the Housing Portal, which helps us match students with compatible roommates. You may also choose your own roommate. Selections are made in June.

Get More Details About the Process

All students living in residence halls are required to participate in the Willamette Dining Plan. Students living in campus apartments or off campus may purchase any of the Willamette Dining Plans.

First-year students typically move in the week before the fall semester begins.
