What is QPR?

QPR stands for Question, Persuade, and Refer — the three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as people trained in CPR and other first aid to help save thousands of lives each year, people trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to question, persuade, and refer someone to help.

What is the training and who should get trained?

This training is for anyone in the Willamette community including students, faculty, and staff. It is delivered in a presentation format and lasts about an hour. The content focuses on giving a framework for helping someone in a suicide crisis. There will be statistics and general information shared, but not stories or examples, nor will participants be asked to share personal accounts.
