Volunteers needed for NWC Track & Field Championships

Contact: Marissa Pariseau

A variety of positions available for the April 21 & 22 event.

We will be hosting the Northwest Conference Meet on April 21–22 (Fri–Sat). It is going to be a really awesome event, but also a big undertaking. We can use every volunteer we can get! Please email me at mpariseau@willamette.edu if you are interested!.

Here are the positions where we have the most urgent need:

Athlete Usher: 12:45–4 p.m. on Friday and 11:45 a.m.– 3 p.m. on Saturday

Description: Ushering student-athletes from the clerking area to the start line. Simple job, but should be an enthusiastic individual and preferably it is the same person for both days.

Relay Zone Judge: 11:30 a.m.–12:15 p.m. on Saturday (3 positions)

Description: Monitoring the 4x100m relay exchanges to make sure the baton is passed within the zone. This job requires some focus, but we will give you clear instructions in advance.

Other ways to help:

10k Lap Counters: 9:40–11:40 a.m. on Friday (unlimited positions)

Description: This is a 25-lap race, so each person will be given three-ish people to keep track of and make sure they run the correct number of laps

5k Lap Counters: 1:45–3 p.m. on Saturday (unlimited positions)

Description: Same as above, except it's a 12.5-lap race

Hurdle Crew: 12:45–4 p.m. on Saturday and 12:20–2 p.m. on Saturday

Description: Very simple job, but requires some manual labor

These are just some of the jobs that come to mind, but if you're interested in helping and have a more limited schedule, just let me know and we can plug you in somewhere.

Thank you in advance, we couldn't do it without volunteers!
