THE ASSEMBLY

The General Assembly (GA) is made up of representatives from the different residence halls on campus as well as regular members. They advocate for an accessible and enjoyable resident experience through events such as on campus programs or being part of an RHA committee. Members are able to vote on funding requests put forward by Willamette community members to fulfill different needs in residence buildings. Past purchases have included new vacuums for each residence hall, hall swag, and event funding.

History

Willamette's RHA was founded in 2014 to replace the hall councils that had previously served as the University's residential governance system. Student interest in creating a space to hear the voices of on-campus residents led to the adoption of the parliamentary system the Association uses today. In the years since RHA's Board of Directors and General Assembly have worked to better the residential community they live in and create a stronger organization for those who will follow in their footsteps. Recently, the hall council system was reintroduced alongside RHA to create an even stronger connection between RHA and the residential community.
