ASWU President Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary representative of the members of ASWU in university governance.
- Serve as the student representative to the Board of Trustees of Willamette University.
- Communicate regularly with the student body.
- Hold at least two weekly office hours throughout the fall and spring semesters, excluding
- University-recognized breaks and finals weeks.
- Plan and execute a retreat (with advisor) for executive officers prior to the start of the fall semester.
- Serve as a speaker during the matriculation ceremony at Opening Days.
- Be present during Opening Days to promote familiarity and involvement in ASWU.
- Schedule, create the agenda for, and lead weekly ASWU Executive Board meetings.
- Meet weekly with the ASWU advisor.
- Attend weekly senate meetings and provide a report at each meeting.
- Maintain appropriate transition materials.
